Plumful Lips | Autumn Lip Shades

Maybelline Blissful Berry, Kate by Rimmel 09, Lush A Million Kisses, MAC Rebel, Too Faced Loganberry

The midwest got their first snow this week, which means winter is quickly sneaking up.  Every autumn there is trend that carries on from year to year, and that is the dark plum/ berry lip.  I love these shades and find that anyone can pull them off, no matter your skin tone.  I also find that they can be worn in the winter months as well as they match a lot of darker shades that come out during this time.  Here are my top five (they all come out darker than they look in the swatches)

If you're just trying out a dark lip for the first time, this is a great shade to choose.  Even though it is highly pigmented, it is very buildable so you can get the exact boldness that you're looking for.  It's also pretty glossy, but not so much so that it never sets.  It lasts an extremely long time and never feels drying on the lips due to the moisturizing honey nectar in it.

This line of lipsticks is by far my favorite from the drugstore.  They are super rich and opaque and last hours upon hours.  This shade is a beautiful dark burgundy/ red wine color that I think looks especially nice on fair skin.  All of the Kate by Rimmel lipsticks are not particularly moisturizing, which means that they don't have a ton of shine to them, however they are not at all drying on the lips.  I couldn't find this exact shade online but I'm sure it's still readily available at stores like Target and Ulta.

This product is unlike anything else I own.  It lasts about the same length of time as a regular lipstick, without really staining your lips too much, however it has amazing lasting power.  I've worn this all day and have only had to touch it up once.  Like the Maybelline lipstick, it is also extremely buildable and it's really easy to create a deeper color.  When you use your finger to apply it it may seem slightly dry but it actually feels like you're wearing nothing at all on your lips!  The rose hip and jojoba oils really keep your lips feeling soft and moisturized.  Not to mention this shade is a gorgeous berry pink that is a part of Lush's standard line.

I had had my eye on this MAC shade for quite a while, and was lucky enough to have it gifted to me this autumn!  It definitely comes off darker than when swatted, but it it still very wearable.  It's the perfect deep plum color that can be worn by anyone.  It also has a satin finish, meaning it is not super glossy but still not matte, while withholding a very opaque color.  Like all other MAC lipsticks, I love the vanilla scent!  This lipstick is definitely becoming by go-to night time lip product this season.

Unlike all the other products mentioned, this lipstick is very glossy and gives off a great shine.  If you're looking for a dramatic look, this is the lippy for you!  Because it is super glossy, it is extremely moisturizing, but the one downside is that it doesn't have phenomenal lasting power due to the fact that it never sets completely.  However, I would rather have a lip product that feels great rather than sacrificing that for one that lasts all day.  This shade is particularly beautiful as it gives off a warm raspberry color, perfect for this season!

And that's it! Let me know if there are any new products I should try out!
