Best Bits | Butter London

I have tried out quite a few of Butter London's nail polishes, but I only just noticed their other products at Ulta a couple months ago.  I figured I would try out a couple different products as I haven't really heard much buzz about them on the internet.  Ulta doesn't carry their full range, but they do carry a large amount of lip products, eye pencils and blushes along with their well known nail polishes.  Butter London is a fairly young company when you compare it to Essie and OPI which were founded in the '80's.  It's a privately owned business that began eight years ago so it's definitely still growing, which can be seen from their expanding make up line.

Nail Polishes in Fiver, Molly-Coddled and Kerfuffle
As I mentioned before, I own a number of Butter London's nail polishes, but none of them have pleased me as much as their Spring 2013 line.  They always come out with great collections of colors that can't be found in any other brand.  Butter London is actually the first company to create carcinogen-free nail polish, making them less harmful to your body.  The girly, preppy colors I've shared here go great with every skin tone and definitely suit the warmer months.  They are more expensive than the everyday nail polish, however they have some really unique colors that are worth the cost.  The brushes also have a shorter than average handle giving you more control so even those of you that are less than tactful when it comes to nail painting will be able to create crisp lines. Even though these shades came out earlier this year, I'm sure you could still find them at various Ulta stores or online here.

Lip Gloss in Toff
After I picked up this lip product I was fairly confused after trying it out.  Ulta advertised it as a liquid lipstick, but the texture and formulation was more of a gloss since it never actually sets.  I did some research online, and it turns out that Ulta's website states that it is a gloss, but Butter London's site says it is a liquid lipstick.  They sell both glosses and liquid lipsticks, but I would definitely say Toff leans towards the gloss side.  They are comparable to a lip lacquer as they have some extreme staying power.  The first time I used it, I only had to touch up once throughout the day, which was right after I had eaten.  This shade is also extremely pigmented, but that might be because it is more of a nude color, but I'd be willing to try out some other colors.  I read some reviews online, and the only complaint seemed to be that the formula is quite thick, which is definitely true, but it applies really smoothly if you just use a small amount, which is really all you need.

Cream Blush in Abbey Rose
This cream blush might have replaced the nail polishes as my favorite Butter London product.  Unlike some other cream blushes, this product is so easy to blend (whether you use your finger or a brush) and seems to have more of a cream to powder consistency.  It doesn't leave you looking shiny or oily and it leaves you with a really natural flush.  They don't have the widest range of color (and the Ulta pictures do not do the colors justice by any means) but colors they do supply are all so beautiful.  I also love the fact that the packaging has a mirror inside, so it's a great product to take with you throughout the day as you can touch it up as you go.

Overall I'm pretty pleased with the products I've picked out.  They are definitely worth the money and seem to be pretty long lasting so far.  Hopefully this will inspire some of you to give them a try!
